How DB-WAN-Accel Works

Oracle Client, SQL Server Client, DB2 Client, MySql Client and PostgreSQL client connect to 
          SpeedyDB Branch Compression Server (BCS).  Branch Compression Server (BCS) connects to Datacenter Compression 
          Server (DCS) through Wide Area Network (WAN). Datacenter Compression Server connects to Oracle Database Servers, SQL Server databases,
          DB2 Database Servers, MySql Database Servers and PostgreSQL database Server.  Datacenter compression Server sends compressed
          result to Branch Compression Servers after replacing query result using intelligent caching to compact the result.

DB-WAN-Accel has 2 components: Datacenter Compression Server (DCS) and Branch Compression Server (BCS). DCS is installed on the datacenter and is near to the database servers. BCS is installed on the branch offices and is near to the database users. Usually DCS and BCS are connected through Wide Area Network (WAN).

Datacenter Compression Server (DCS)    

  • Caches the query results from the database servers.
  • Replaces the cached results with short IDs
  • Compresses the results
  • Sends the compressed result to the BCS

Branch Compression Server (BCS)

  • Receives the compressed result from the DCS
  • Decompresses the compressed result
  • Replaces the short IDs with caches
  • Caches the query results
  • Sends the result to the database client
