To start using DB-WAN-Accel, please follow these steps:
-
Configure your database servers to enable "TCP/IP" connection since Datacenter Compression
Server (DCS) connects to your database servers using TCP/IP connections.
- Download and install Datacenter Compression Server (DCS).
For the best performance,
DCS should be installed on a computer with fast connections (such as Local Area
Network) to your database servers.
If you need to support more than one database server, please modify DCS.ini after the installation.

-
If needed, configure your network firewalls to allow connections to the port used by
the Datacenter Compression Server (DCS).
- Download and install Branch Compression Server (BCS).
BCS can be installed on any computer with connections (such as Wide Are Network) to the DCS.
If BCS is installed on the same local network with the DCS, you can use a WAN emulator
to emulate wide are network. We recommend the free WANem 2.0.
If you need to support more than one database server, please modify BCS.ini after the installation.

Where "CHARLESZ-PC" is the name of the computer on which the BCS is installed and "3560" is the TCP port number of
the BCS.
